Inspired. Red Deer Family Photographer.

You know when you meet someone and you feel like you have known them for years?

That’s how I felt with this family.

During this session I was inspired by their connection, the light of the evening and the fall field.   And I love what the images captured.

2012 Series. Celebrating Moms. Red Deer Photographer

Where has January gone?!?

The first Celebrating Mom’s date was on January 26, and I am happy to announce the February and March dates have been released!

Thursday, February 16 + Monday, March 19

Both dates will have openings from 10am – 2pm.  Sessions will take place in the studio.  20 minutes in length.  One digital file with your session.  Cost is $125.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for this project and to see the photo stories come together at the end of the year.  A photo celebration of so many mom’s and their children.

Call or email to become a part of this project!

A Perfect Match.

Over the next couple of weeks I hope to catch up on my blogging from my fall sessions.  Starting with the lovely family of Jennifer Swenson, a local fellow photographer that I am lucky to call a friend :).

One thing is for sure.  The light this evening was a perfect fit for their family.  Warm and magical.

Celebrating Moms. 2012 Series.

I love photography and storytelling and documenting and being held in a moment.

But what I love more, WITH ALL OF MY  HEART, is being a mom.  Anyone who has known me for forever will attest to the fact that it changed me (right Jod ;)).  It softened me, made me slow down and taught me more than I could have ever ever dreamed.

What I have thought about over the past year – and with photographing families – is the power of a mother’s love.  Unconditional, authentic, pure love that, I believe, can truly change the world.  One child at a time.

So, naturally, photographing moms and their children completely makes my heart sing.

Now, THE SERIES.  I have been wanting to pull together a story, or what I would like to call series.   Linking lives and humanity together in some way.  In some way, with some thing, I am passionate about.  And here I am.  Over the next year, once a month, I will be scheduling one day just for this project.

And being the dreamer I am, I hope at the end of the year I can share a Legacy Book of the love shared between Moms and their children.  And while I am at it, maybe a gallery show too :).

Have meaningful portraits with your child and become a part of this lovely series.  Call or email to reserve your spot for the first January session.  Thursday, January 26 – 10am – 3pm, in the studio.

FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS.

Wishing you and your family lots of love, and days filled with laughter this holiday season.

MERRY WISHES.

And then my boys made a wish.

The only rule I had for them was that the wish had to be on behalf of someone else.  And not for anything material.  Love, peace, happiness, health – for someone else they know.

They talked.  They took their time.  And I am still not sure what their wish was.  But I love that they did it together.
